It's what MK Mythologies wanted to be minus all the suck.

The other game...

God of War is the most badass game I've ever played. Period.

That's a pretty bold statement, but it's the truth. From the moment you enter the game you realize that you're a badass and can beat the living shit out of anything in the most brutal and satisfying ways.

Basically God of War is about Kratos and without giving much of the story away, he's got 2 swords attached to his body with chains, and he can whirl them about dealing death and destruction. The game is for all intents and purposes damn near flawless.
I can't say enough good things about this game. However, there is one thing that is good/bad.

The bad is.... This is a HARD, HARD game. It's brutal, unforgiving, and can be frustrating at times, however, the way the story plays out, it really drives you through the game.

If you own a PS2, YOU'VE GOT TO BUY THIS GAME! It's only $19.95

If you DO NOT own a PS2, go out and buy one just for this game, but also for the huge library of cheap games you can get for it.

MK Shaolin Monks.... Unfinished, but so far I'd say a 7/10

God of War.... Beaten, I'd have to give it a 10.

Random babble #425

It's time for bed as I reflect on my life.

I've had some good times, I've had some bad times, and I've had a lot of times that were just wasted, unimportant, useless moments of my life. I've wasted a lot of time, and I'm not just talking about time spent unemployed, or single. I mean wasting time living life. Getting caught up in your own life. Getting too busy for yourself. Getting lost in the complexity of everyday living and wasting the rest of your time just falling into a routine. How many lives have been squandered this way.

You look up and one day it's time for retirement and your life is gone. I've got about 30-35 years left to work, and I'm not sure if I'll even aquire enough fundage to retire. This is what I hate about life. You spend all your time worrying about things to set you up for life, and your life is almost over when your ready to use it. There's got to be a better way.

Funny how people will pour their most intimate details of their inner being into a blog. Most of the things you'd never tell your friends, much less the whole world.

I'd chat more, but I have to hit the sack so I can be at work in the morning at 5am. :(

Earning ZERO RETIREMENT.

The New Hotness.

Well, I finally got the new computer. Everything is rocking along quite nicely at the moment. I'm still downloading and installing all the crap I've gotta have. You know, the typical.... Divx, Quicktime, Adaware, Windows Defender, Different games etc.

Speaking of which, I just played a little Half-Life 2 at 1920 X 1280 at full detail, anistropic filtering etc., and it really blew my mind how badass it was. I also played UT2004 at the same rez and it seems like the framerate was way too fast. I guess faster than I'm used to maybe. But that's o.k. Played Doom3 at Ultra detail and while it looks amazing, it's still Doom3, so I had to take points off for that. Plus I think I've got my monitor's brightness set a little too high, so it just didn't look right when I played it.

My main concern now is getting all my old stuff from the other computer on this HD.

Saving up for this thing at my salary has been an incredibly difficult chore though. I'm not sure I could do that again.

I guess one of the coolest things about my new computer is the monitor. I can play HD video at 1080p which is better than many HDTV's out there.

I've been an LCD hater for years, and I still think I prefer CRT monitors, but this monitor is so hi-rez it really doesn't matter that much.

???

I think I'm going to get a haircut today. I know some of you don't believe in God, and I know some of you also do, but don't take it seriously, or you do. Spirituality is a personal thing, but it's also something that's meant to be shared.

I've reached a point in my life where nothing really makes much sense anymore, and I have to do something in order to have a life worth living. I don't know how things are gonna go over the next year or so, but I hope my life improves, and I hope to improve the lives of others.

Life is pointless without God. It just doesn't make sense.

I'm gonna try to change the way I am and become a better person, because I'm getting nowhere on my own.

Don't think of this post being depressing, cuz it's really not. I'm exited and am really looking forward to what changes life may bring. But it's over for now. I HATE split off days, and generally I'm off one Saturday and Sunday, then the nex week I'm off on Thursday and Sunday. This has been the Thursday/Sunday combo, and I'm beat. When you have split off days like that, it's like you don't have a weekend, you just have a couple of days off.

Anyhow, the computer thing is moving right along, I'm about $50 short, so I'll have to wait another week. I also found a monitor I REALLY, REALLY want, and it's $850. So that'll mean MORE saving. It's a bitch, and it requires a lot of patience.

Yesterday, I came home and found my Aunt and Uncle were visiting. They had a DVD with them that was tons and tons of old home movies on 8mm film. lol The film held up pretty nice, and it was amazing to look at all that old stuff.

Most of it was video from Christmas's, Vacations etc. I saw my first Birthday, and several incredible moments. One thing that is "REALLY FREAKIN' WIERD" is 2 of my nephews look almost EXACTLY like my brother and I. I'm not exaggerating, it literally looks like them. Seems kinda wierd to me cuz I've never had anything to do with my sister-in-law. lol.. Brandon looks like his dad, and Carson looks like me. The only real difference between us is I had curly hair, and he has straight hair, other than that, it's uncanny.

One thing that really struck me when watching these movies, is how fast time flies by. 35 years gone by in a flash, it was really strange seeing my parents so young, Seeing my GRANDPARENTS so young as well. It's an awesome treasure really that you can't put a price on. I'm gonna start filming everthing when I get a camera.

That reminds me, my cousin had a 30 Gig Video Ipod. It was SMOOTHE. I'd love to have one and it's not that expensive I don't guess. The 30 gig is around $250 and the 60 gig is around $360 or so. Hell, it's worth that to me, even if it's just for a data wallet.

YAY!

I've been saving money for what seems like forever to get a new PC. I'm basically sparing no expense and getting a top of the line pc. Buying a new PC is a very tricky thing. The computer I'm on now had a strict budget, so I had to take it easy on a few things. This time, the gloves are off, and I'm blowing money, quite possibly wasting money, but at least I know I'll have a solid PC to last me a few years. This computer will WAY outclass the current machine I'm on. By at least 4 fold, possibly more. I'm looking forwart to that when it comes time to work with max.

I havn't done much max work in a long while, doing a modelling text for 3DR did permanant damage to my video card, and it never quite recovered. ;) So I'm hoping I'll get back in the 3D mood. Another thing that'll kick ass, I'll be able to play Doom3, Prey, Quake4 (and pretty much any game that comes out soon in Ultra High Detail. The video card has 4X the memory, and 600% faster clock speed than my old one.

Anyway, I've finally got the money saved up and I'm gonna start ordering stuff tomorrow. I'm pretty exited about it.

The Post that goes Nowhere.

I was out of work for a long time, and I kinda dropped out of life for awhile. I can't really explain why, it was for a lot of reasons I think, but I do think the timing was right for a lot of things that were going on with my family during that time.

During that time I kinda forgot how to talk to people, how to act. How to express myself, and I basically became afraid of everything.

I went to work at a grocery store a few months back, and a good bit of why I wanted to go there was it was close to home, I could save up money, and more than anything, I would be around TONS of people.

I've gotten used to people again, and it really didn't take that long to get back in the swing of things. However, most of these people are country people, so I'll have to get used to 'city folk' all over again. ;)

I've got a good bit of money saved up, enough to get a computer that can handle the kind of work I wanna do. (hopefully) ;)I've also learned how to do without things I really don't need and focus on saving money for things that add value to my life somehow. I figure I can blow all my money on little things I really don't need, but it's better to spend it on bigger things that are really worth having. At least that's the way I look at it.

I feel like I'm getting ready to go to the next level finally. It seems the past 15 years or so have really been an uphill struggle for me, with lots of potholes, boulders and wildlife along the path, but now I'm ready to start looking forward instead of back. I just feel like my life is about to get better for a change.

At first I was ashamed that I was working at a grocery store, with my education and background, but the more I thought about it, it was the right thing at the right time, and I'm not too good for any job. I'm thankfull that I've had the opportunity to work there again, even though I hate it with a passion. ;)

This post really isn't going anywhere, I'm basically thinking out loud. I'm tired, and I'm gonna go chill for a bit.

Yesterday.

For a long time now, longer than I care to admit, I've been living in the past. Seems I never could grow up, or didn't want to. To me, it's sad that I'm not a kid anymore. When I say kid, I mean teenager of course. It's just times were different when I was a kid. I was talking to a friend of mine about how I felt and he said

"I used to be that way. The problem is that I discovered that people who were missing being a kid, were really doing a lousy job being adults. Thats when I decided it was time to "let go of childish things" so to speak and start looking ahead instead of back. It made life a whole lot less "melancholy".

Naturally I agreed, because I've been feeling like this was the right thing to do. Just kinda let go of the past and move forward. Then he said...

"The funny thing is that as a kid you were who you were, just like now you are who you are. The difference was the kid wasn't worrying about it and his attention was directed on the present and therefore was living life, while you have your attention in the past which means you are reliving memories. It's not a matter of letting go of your childhood, thats gone and the memories aren't going anywhere. It's just a matter of rediscovering who you are right now by living in the now."

Words of wisdom. But like the song says "It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday."

The past has made me who I am, but the future is gonna make me better I hope. I'm gonna try to start looking ahead instead of behind, see how that works out for awhile.

Weekend

I'm gonna go have some fun today. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, but I know I'll have my oldest nephew with me. He slept over last night and today's pretty much wide open. I'd kinda like to just sit on my butt, because it's been a rough week, but I'm thinking maybe he'd like to go to gamestop or something and pick out a game, so we might do that.

The weekend doesn't seem to last as long as they used to. I'm so ready to get back to a 4 day work-week. 5 day's is just too much. You never have time for yourself. Before the weekend starts it's over. Quite the bummer. The 4 day week is kinda rare, but it's doable, so that's what I'm going to be looking for in my next job.

Well, gotta run. I just wanted to post something this morning. Hope all is well with whoever reads this post, if anyone does. It's still pretty good news.

The store I work for is going to be closing. The owner has made millions off the store and he's just tired of all the hastle and headache involved in it. It's a pretty shitty deal for some of the people that work there, but most people are ready to leave anyhow.

In the past 2 weeks, 2 people have quit, 2 more are quitting, the owner's daughter is quitting as well. The boss really treats people like shit for the most part. He's got his good days when he's not a totall asshole, but those are usually few and far between. He's really cheap, and that's also getting him sued. The girl that put in her notice right before I was hired, is suing him because some guy got paid more than she did for the same job. It's a discrimination thing. I can see where it may be a valid complaint, but knowing the guy the way I do, I think he just pays everbody the lowest amount he thinks they'll work for.

At any rate, I'm pleased about this for the most part. I hate the job with a passion mainy because it's backbreaking labor, for immigrant pay. I'm glad because I almost have enough cash for my new computer, and I can start looking elsewhere for a job.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rapidevolver.blogspot.com/2006/01/good-news-bad-news-its-still-pretty.html' title='Good news, Bad news... I mean, things are going o.k., but I really hate my job more than any of you could possibly know. I'm so tired at the end of the day, I can hardly walk. LITERALLY I'm making HORRIBLE money, and there are HILLBILLIES all around me.

I thought working at the store would be a great way to make a little money and get some clothes ect. so I could get another job doing something where I could at least sit down all day. ;) Instead, I'm stuck on my feet 8-11 hours a day doing some pretty demanding work.

I also thought I'd lose some weight working at the store, but nope... I'm just getting stronger and more muscular in areas, but I'm about the same size. I can get around a little better, but work wears me down so bad, that I have trouble even walking.

I need deliverance from this job with the swiftness.

I'm saving up as much money as possible, so far I've saved up about $1500.
